Three college friends with distinct personalities contemplate their lives as love intervenes and tests their ideals.

Short Synopsis

The Third Angle is a coming-of-age story about friendship, love, and disappointments that form an integral part of life. Childhood friends, Mayank and Vikram, though completely diverse in their upbringing and personalities, evolve together during their journey through college life. Mayank comes from a humble family background and treasures people who are attached to his life, while Vikram comes from a higher class and possesses charms that can make girls go weak in their knees. As the story begins with Vikram reminiscing old memories through a photo album, it's seen that Vikara and Mayank develop a close friendship with a girl named Khyati. Eventually, Khyati and Vikram fall in love and begin their relationship. On the other hand, Mayank had always liked Khyati but never gave a try to win her for his own reasons. Mayank has a hard time seeing both together but he grows emotionally to accept their relationship. Mayank sticks to his goal of serving society and starts interning at an orphanage. He lives with the clarity that he has to spend his life working for orphan kids, and he wants to have a life partner who would understand his need to do so and would readily embrace all the financial difficulties life may have to offer. He does find that personality in Pratima, the manager at the orphanage where he volunteers. But later he comes to know that she has no place for marriage and wants to spend all her life in the service of orphan kids. After college Mayank, Vikram, and Khyati move back to their respective hometown. To Khyati’s surprise, Vikram suddenly starts ghosting her and gradually ends contact with her. Readers would understand that Vikram was bounded by family restrictions and had to cut her off for a year until his family was fully convinced. On the other side of the story, being in the same town as Khyati, Mayank does everything possible to bring her back from the setback in her life. During this, both of them start getting closer. After a year, Vikram comes back to Khyati but she refuses to have him as she has been depressed for too long because of his abandoning her without giving any explanation. It takes Vikram a lot of effort to convince Khyati and finally, they end up kissing. Although it gets difficult for Mayank to witness all of this, he takes a photograph of them with a wide smile.
