Jemisha gets possessed by an evil spirit after recently moving into their dream house. While Chitin exorcises it, someone has already planted its heirloom that no one knows about.
An urban legend has been passed down through the generations in one of the villages of Darjeeling. It says that there is an entity that supposedly wants people to believe that it exists. The prologue of the story confirms this legend when an author comes to the Belvoirbrooke Tea Estate, seeking inspiration from the haunted house. Instead, he is been killed by the spirit of the same person whose death was his subject of research. Fast forward to 1990. Darjeeling - A young married couple, Nihith and Jemisha, settles at Belvoirbrooke Tea Estate, founded in 1865, amidst magnificent rolling countryside. Very soon, she experiences certain occurrences that are anything but normal. She realizes the place is haunted and she might be on the brink of giving in to the rules of urban legend. Nihith worries about his wife and looks for a paranormal investigator. While he is on a work tour to Calcutta the paranormal investigator recommended by Jemisha’s uncle is appointed to visit their bungalow a day before he returns. But surprisingly, Chitin Barman, the paranormal investigator visits her the same day. After some analysis, Chitin tells her that the entity had already latched on to her and they had to act fast. However, in the parallel scenario in Calcutta, Jemisha's uncle tells Nihith that Chitin's train was canceled and he would leave the next evening. If that is so, who is the man with Jemisha now? (Readers and viewers will ponder over it.) While Nihith is unaware of this fact, he and Jemisha’s uncle meet Akash Ganguly's brother who tells them that the spirit who killed Akash once lived as an auditor who was killed by the locals for raping a young woman. Now, his evil spirit feeds on people's fear and wants to make his presence felt. If someone does not believe in him, he dies as his brother did. Nihith decides to accompany Chitin to his home the next day. Meanwhile, in their house, Jemisha suspects something fishy about Chitin and runs for help inside Mr. Singh’s bungalow but is amazed at what she sees. A séance is currently taking place. Nihith, Mr. Lama, and Mr. Singh look blankly into the air as a gust of wind sweeps in as she enters. There is Chitin Barman too, in that circle, unconscious. There is also there, tied in a rope! Chitin's spirit appears from behind and tells her what's happening. He and Nihith had found Jemisha possessed. She was taken to Mr. Singh's bungalow where Chitin began his procedure of exorcism. After all the procedures, the next morning felt bright and lovely. Jemisha recuperates and Nihith stays by her side as they await a child, a son. At the end of the story, we learn that Nihith is the son of Anirban Biswas, whose evil spirit haunts the tea estate. Nihith had been performing various rituals all these days so that the child to be born would acquire immense evil powers and rule the world.
