MK Shankar - Profile MK Shankar did Post graduation in Cinema and thereafter started working as a freelance filmmaker. He has produced and directed more than seventy-five Documentaries, two feature films in Hindi and various corporate commercials (Pidilite, Crompton, Thermax, to name a few). His award-winning films include Samadhan (1986), The Resurgence (2003) and The Messengers (2004). He is a visiting faculty at various film institutes where he teaches script writing, cinematography and direction. As a jury and a selection committee member he served MIFF (2010), and NIFF (2008). Since 1998, he has been on the film section panel of The Films Division, Government of India, Government of Rajasthan, Maharashtra and Gujarat. In April 2024, he released his first book – ‘The Heist’ (Amazon publication), a fiction written in feature film screenplay format. Currently, he is conducting film workshops at IFVT, Pune.
